State Troopers identify woman killed in Madison County wreck, arrest man they say is responsible

MADISON COUNTY, Ala. - Authorities are investigating a fatal two-vehicle wreck at the corner of Douglass Road and Jeff Road in Madison County. The wreck happened around 9:15 Tuesday night.

Alabama State Troopers say one person has died in the wreck. They identified her at Jalissa Roshell Garner, 25, of Huntsville.

Jose Sanchez, charged with Felony Leaving the Scene of an Accident

Investigators say Jose Sanchez, 34, was driving a vehicle, and hit Garner head-on. They say he then left the area, uninjured. An investigators with the Alabama State Trooper Traffic Homicide division found and arrested Sanchez later in the evening.

Sanchez is charged with Felony Leaving the Scene of an Accident.

State Troopers say Garner, who was not using a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene.
