Emergency crews block south Huntsville intersection for gas leak

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Emergency crews are on the scene of a gas leak in south Huntsville. They have the intersection of Camelot Drive and Galahad Drive blocked right now.

Two different lines ruptured in the area. Huntsville Utilities was working on one line when it ruptured; another crew ruptured the other line while installing a fiber optic cable.

Firefighters say the gas levels in the air aren’t high enough to require an evacuation in the area.

The crews responded to the area right around noon today. They expect roughly 30-minutes to an hour to shut off the gas.

The area just near Mountain Gap Road.
