University of Alabama SGA President arrested for driving under the influence
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — According to the Tuscaloosa Police Department, University of Alabama’s SGA President was arrested Sunday for driving under the influence.
The Tuscaloosa Police Department confirm Jared Hunter was involved in a head-on collision on the 1300 block of Hackberry Lane. While investigating the accident, officers smelled a moderate alcohol odor on one of the drivers. Authorities said Hunter performed poorly on a field sobriety test and transported him to the Tuscaloosa County Jail where he consented to Drager Testing. Police report his blood alcohol level registered at .16.
Hunter was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence and held in the Tuscaloosa County Jail on a $1,000 bond.
The Crimson White reports under the SGA constitution, his arrest could be grounds for impeachment.
