Authorities confirm shots fired near Nissan Stadium during TSU homecoming, alleged gunman in custody

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Nashville Police confirmed no one was injured after shots were fired near Nissan Stadium Saturday night.

Tennessee State University was facing off against Austin Peay at the stadium when the incident took place.

According to police, the gunfire appears to have stemmed from an altercation involving two people. Police say the alleged gunman has been taken into custody for questioning.

Police estimate nine cars were damaged following the gunfire. Authorities continue to investigate.
