ALBERTVILLE, Ala. — Albertville Police detectives are investigating an early morning shooting that left one man injured.

Albertville Police officers responded to a home near Turnpike Road and Highway 75 south around 2:30 Monday morning.

Police Chief Jamie Smith says officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. The man’s name isn’t released.

Responders took the victim to a hospital. He was shortly released, and he’s expected to be okay.

“The detectives weren’t able to do a whole lot of talking with him this morning,” Chief Smith said,  “Obviously their primary concern was his health and well-being and getting him medical attention.”

So far, no arrests have been made. “Detectives are still doing what they do. They’re talking to folks, they’re interviewing, they processed the scene down there,” Smith said.

Smith says there were some witnesses at the scene. Police will be talking with them as part of the investigation.
