Motorcyclist killed in Decatur wreck identified

DECATUR, Ala. – Decatur Police say a motorcyclist who got in a wreck Wednesday night has died. Police identified him as Richard Turner, 45.

The wreck happened near Austin High School just before 9:00 p.m. Police say Turner was traveling north on Danville Rd SW on his 2003 Suzuki GSX-R600K3 motorcycle when he collided with a 1988 Chevrolet C1500 pickup near the intersection of Dianne St.


An air ambulance took Turner to Huntsville Hospital where he was pronounced dead.


The investigation into the wreck is still ongoing.
