LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. – The Limestone County Sheriff’s Office says Christopher Cody Usery is now in custody. He’s the man reported to have escaped custody on Sunday.

Investigators say Usery was on work release when he left his work post at Vulcan Plastics.

Deputies credit an observant citizen for noticing Usery. That person called to report him to the sheriff’s office.

Investigators are still looking for the stolen vehicle. It’s a 2010 Chevrolet Malibu with Alabama License Place 0202AD4.

Usery is being held in the Limestone County Jail and faces additional charges of escape first degree, theft first degree and domestic violence assault second degree.
