ATHENS, Al. – The city of Athens is working to restore power to several areas in Limestone County.

The outages are being caused by increased demand load due to the extreme cold, and utilities crews are working to fix the issues.

The city says because of the lower temperatures, recovery time for the power grid to come back online may take longer than normal.
