Police: Person’s dog shot and killed after it bites officer who was serving a search warrant

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — An officer was bitten and a dog shot while police served a narcotics search warrant Monday.

According to the report, STAC Agents were serving a search warrant for drugs at a home in the 2100 block of Guava Circle around 3:45 p.m. Monday.

When the agents entered the home, one of them was attacked and bitten by a dog. Agents fired their weapons, killing the dog.

The officer who was bitten was treated at the hospital for minor injuries.

Animal Control responded to the house and took two additional dogs, who were not injured, for safekeeping.  The investigation is ongoing.
