HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – If you’re a Star Wars fan, the U.S. Space and Rocket Center is the place to be on Thursday, December 15.  “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” will be shown at 7 and 10 p.m.

The Rocket Center’s Spacedome IMAX® Theater is one of only eight places in the world where you can see the first stand-alone Star Wars feature in 70mm film format and in a dome theater.

Other aspects special to the Rocket Center are:

  • A Geek Out Huntsville-hosted pre-movie party begins at 5:30 p.m. The party includes a Star Wars costume contest and a trivia contest, with prizes for the winners. Simulated light sabers and blasters are permitted for the costume contest, but won’t be permitted in the theater.
  • Opening night shows are at 7 and 10 p.m. The 7 p.m. showing is sold out, but tickets are available for the second show and for other opening weekend shows.
  • Members of the 501st Legion Star Wars costuming organization will make appearances before both movies on opening night along with R2D2.
  • Green Pea Press is printing a special, Star Wars-themed “My City has a Spaceline” T-shirt that will be for sale opening night as well as in the Rocket Center gift shop.
