GUNTERSVILLE, Ala. — The second level of zip lines over some of Alabama’s prettiest views is in the works in Marshall County. This is the second part of the zip lines course at Lake Guntersville State Park.

"There's going to be upwards of maybe eight new zip lines, that's going to be offering extreme zip lines that is high-speed, and somewhere between 1,700 and upwards of 2,600 foot,” said Park Superintendent Michael Jeffreys. “The folks with American Adventure Park Systems do a wonderful job."

The first level is more of an entry-level course. Level two will be more advanced. "Level two will be across a large gorge between one ridge line to the other with views that are out of this world,” Jeffreys explained.

The first level opened earlier this year. "The public has responded, showing that they want an outdoor, eco-friendly adventure that they can bring their kids and their families, and something exciting in the area that we don't offer,” Jeffreys said.

The course is expected to open early next year. "I really think the public is going to respond when we get this caliber of zip lines locally, in Alabama,” Jeffreys said.

The price details and specifics on the new level aren’t available yet. Here is information on the first level of zip lines, including a link to make reservations.
