The University of Houston has made its decision on who will take the helm as the new head football coach of the cougars; Lane Kiffin. That’s according to USA Today. It’s all but official. There’s a meeting scheduled for Thursday where school President Renu Khator will have to give the final OK.

Kiffin, current offensive coordinator at University of Alabama, would replace Tom Herman. Herman left for University of Texas after two seasons with Houston.

Kiffin, 41, coached at Tennessee for one season and more than three seasons at USC before being fired as the head coach of the Trojans.

Lincoln Riley, Major Applewhite, Todd Orlando and Les Miles were all candidates for the job at Houston.
