"She loves to be petted. If she see anybody whether she knows them or not, she'd typically run up to them wanting them to pet her, " said Shanda Parker. That's how she described her family's dog, a rescue named Darlin'.  "She's typically fairly quiet," Parker added.

It took 20 minutes to get it all off. Marks of the tape are still on the small-sized dog.

The family reported it to Arab Police. "Right now, we're still looking into every lead," said Assistant Chief Shane Washburn. "Our leads are very small at this point to find out who actually did this to this dog."

The Parkers don't know who did it. "Everybody who we've talked to about her says they love her and she's so sweet and everything, and it's just mind-blowing," said Parker.

The person responsible could face a charge of Cruelty to Animals Second Degree. That's a Class A Misdemeanor. If you have information on this please call the Arab Police Department at (256) 586-8124.
