HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Have you been getting your steps in? The Mayor’s 100-Day 100-Mile Walking Challenge culminates this Thursday, December 1 and you’re invited to lace up your shoes and join in.
A public walk will take place at 12:30 p.m. at the Lakewood Community Center, located at 3601 Kenwood Drive, Huntsville AL 35810.
Mayor Tommy Battle and District 1 Council Member Devyn Keith will lead students and citizens on a final walk in the 2016 challenge with a half-mile walk around the Lakewood Center’s track.
Mayor Battle reached his 100 mile goal about two weeks ago and says he is working toward a new record this year.
“We’ve had incredible participation again in the 2016 challenge,” said Mayor Battle. “We see more and more people out for walks, and we hope the Walking Challenge has inspired our citizens to make regular exercise a part of their daily lives.
