HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Come out and celebrate the joy of the season! Huntsville’s annual Christmas Parade will wind through downtown on Thursday, Dec. 1 from 6:00 p.m. until approximately 8:00 p.m.

This year’s theme is Dr. Seuss.  There are also two Grand Marshals for the parade, a brother and sister who are both part of the Make-A-Wish Alabama program.

The parade will begin at Lot K on Clinton Avenue and end on Adams Street at Huntsville Junior High School.  Several streets and intersections in the downtown area will be affected. Motorists should expect delays, road closures, and traffic detours beginning as early as 5:30 p.m.

Please use caution when driving in the area, and slow down and watch for small children and adults who will be crossing streets.

The Von Braun Center has several events scheduled during the parade. Attendees of VBC events on December 1 are encouraged to avoid Clinton Avenue and use Williams Avenue to Monroe St. to access the parking garage.

The parade route is as follows:

East on Clinton Avenue from Lot K
North and East on Monroe Street
South on Greene Street
East on Williams Avenue
South on Adams Street
Parade disbands in the area of Huntsville Junior High School

The parade is presented by Mix 96.9 and the Von Braun Center.
