Marshall County teen dies after single-vehicle wreck Saturday

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — A single vehicle wreck Saturday afternoon claimed the life of a Marshall County teen.

According to ALEA, the 16-year-old was killed when the Chevrolet Cobalt she was driving left the roadway and struck a fence before overturning. The teen, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash occurred at 11:12 a.m. on Hulaco Road two miles north of Arab.

The cause of the crash is under investigation. However, troopers say speed was likely a factor.
