HUNTSVILLE, Ala. -What can bring an Auburn and Alabama fan together on the week of the Iron Bowl? The "One Table" event hosted by Causeway Huntsville.

Several hundred people ate side by side in harmony in downtown Huntsville on Monday afternoon. Causeway Huntsville hosted the event to promote fellowship and food. It was a great way for all walks of life to sit down together for a Thanksgiving meal.

"This is a healing. One of many healing moments that we need in today's environment, where we really take a pause and look at each other with caring eyes, and really see the best in one another," said Aladin Beshir.

While food and music were a nice touch, what really stood out were the conversations.

"Especially with this big table. You're sitting by total strangers. You get to hear other people's life stories, and learn about what they've been through," said local high school student, Zoie Werkheiser.

Werkheiser said the event really drives home what the holidays are all about.

"It's a time to be thankful for everything. Not just people or things. It's time to really realize what you have in life, and the things other people do for you, and those around you. It's time to give back to your community," she said.
