HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - On Saturday, the Madison County Republican Men's Club met for their monthly meeting. Although, it wasn't like a normal meeting... there was a little more excitement in the air.
Some members say the crowded gymnasium isn't what the group was used to. Whatever the explanation is, many Republicans can agree it's a more celebratory meeting than usual.
"We do know we're headed in the quote right direction," said Paul Reynolds.
Speaker at this month's meeting, Paul Reynolds, is one of three people from Alabama on the Republican National Committee.
He says this election has been a long time coming for conservatives.
"He touched the heart of people saying we have to have a correction," said Republican National Committeeman, Paul Reynolds. "We're headed in the wrong direction, we don't need to make a slight move to the right, we need to do a u-turn and that was what Trump was all about."
One decision President-Elect Trump has already made in choosing his cabinet involves the first Senator to endorse Mr. Trump.
A decision Reynolds says will put the country back on the right track.
"Sessions brings the Alabama ideas and the Alabama positions that the Alabama Republican party has established over a period of many years," explained Reynolds. "Sessions brings that to the national level, I think there is a definite need for that, a definite need."
As far as who could replace Senator Sessions in the future--Reynolds says there are about as many possibilities as the amount of people at the meeting Saturday.
