Hit-and-run kills pedestrian early Saturday near Florence

LAUDERDALE COUNTY, Ala. — A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle on Alabama 20.

The crash occurred at approximately 3:30 a.m. Saturday, one mile west of Florence.

Brian J. Sandlin, 25, of Falmouth, Mass., was struck and killed by an unknown vehicle as he was walking in the roadway. The vehicle did not stop and left the scene.

Sandlin was pronounced dead at the scene. Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
