HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - Huntsville police have arrested a teacher at Lee High School who is accused of sending a nude photo to a student.

Police say 26-year-old Aundrea Winbush sent a nude photo to a then 16-year-old student in October. She turned herself in on November 10.

An anonymous tip on November 4th, and a few students speaking up is what got the attention of administrators at Lee High School.

"We had students that stepped up and did the right thing and contacted adults, we had school administrators that have a good relationship with our school resource officers. Hopefully it prevented any one else from being a victim of the same thing." says Lt. Stacy Bates of the Huntsville Police Department.

Lt. Bates says there was no relationship between Winbush and the student.

"He in no way initiated any of this contact-it was all on the teacher and she admitted to that. This was just something a teacher did on her own." says Bates.

Winbush is charged with sending obscene material to a juvenile and has been released from the Madison County Jail on $6,000 bail.

"A staff member at Lee High has been indefinitely removed from campus for allegedly sending inappropriate images to a student. All relevant information has been turned over to law enforcement and the Board will take appropriate action as warranted." according to Huntsville City Schools spokesman Keith Ward.

Keith Ward says that during a meeting of the Huntsville City School Board on Thursday, the resignation of Aundrea Winbush was approved.
