Authorities respond to overnight vehicle fire on Interstate 565

HUNTSVILLE, Ala (WHNT) - Emergency crews rushed to put out a vehicle fire on Interstate 565 in Huntsville near the U.S. Space & Rocket Center.

Authorities responded around 10:30 p.m.

They arrived to find a pickup truck engulfed in flames.  The truck was towing a trailer at the time.

Huntsville Police closed off all but one eastbound lane of Interstate 565 between Bob Wallace and Jordan Lane while crews worked to put out the fire.

Everyone was able to get out of the vehicle without being injured.

Firefighters put the fire out in about 10 minutes.

The interstate has since reopened.
