Alabama mother arrested for DUI with 15-day-old baby in vehicle

DECATUR, Ala. – According to our news partners at , an Alabama woman is accused of endangering her child’s safety after police arrested her for driving under the influence with a 15-day-old baby in the vehicle.

Amber Moore, 23, is held in the Morgan County Jail with bail set at $131,000 on the DUI controlled substance charge along with three counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count of drug endangerment of a child.

Moore, was stopped by police in Hartselle on Thursday because an officer suspected she was under the influence, according to court records.

When the officer made contact with Moore he saw the woman reach under her seat and saw a bag containing an assortment of pills, according to an arrest affidavit.

The Morgan County Drug Task Force responded to the scene and identified the pills as hydrocodone, tramodol, and oxycodone, Agent Webster wrote in the affidavit. The pills are used for treating pain.

Moore’s daughter was placed with family and friends by the Department of Human Resources.
