Search for Lawrence County inmate who walked away from work detail

LAWRENCE COUNTY, Ala.- Sheriff’s Investigators are currently looking for an inmate who walked off Tuesday from a work detail.  Sheriff Gene Mitchell said that Jeremy Hill, 32, of Haleyville, walked off from a trustee work detail.  Hill was incarcerated on a charge of failure to register as a sex offender.

Mitchell said that the U.S. Marshall’s Office has been notified and warrants have been obtained for an Escape charge.  Hill is approximately 5’7” tall and weighs 170 lbs.   He has brown hair and green eyes.
