HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Huntsville Fire and Rescue sent four units to a house fire this morning at 2804 10th Ave. SW. WHNT News 19 spoke to the homeowner, who said he wasn’t home when the fire started, but his wife and mother-in-law were. They were not injured. He said a roofing company was working on the roof when it caught fire. The residents lost everything they own. The home is a total loss, but the residents do have relatives in the area that they’ll stay with until further notice.

The Huntsville Fire and Rescue district chief said no firefighters were injured while extinguishing the fire. Due to today’s high temperatures, firefighters did have to rotate throughout the morning to allow breaks.

The cause of the fire has not been confirmed at this time.
