BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – According to our news partners at AL.com and Vestavia Hills Capt. Kevin York, officers are responding to a call around 7:15 p.m.  Friday about a person being robbed at the Red Roof Inn on Highway 31 by two males driving a green Chevrolet Tahoe.

York says, one of the units responding to the call spotted the vehicle while the suspects sped off when an officer tried to conduct a traffic stop.

The police chase went through Homewood, Birmingham, and Midfield before the suspects’ vehicle wrecked on Bessemer Super Highway at Woodward Avenue. Shots were fired at one of the officers, but there were no injures.

Authorities arrested two males and female at the scene. Their identities and charges will be released on Monday.

There are two female victims at the Red Roof, but they were not injured.

The incident remains under investigation.
