MORGAN COUNTY, Ala. –This year's presidential election has prompted many people to register to vote, especially in Morgan County. "We were very busy yesterday, I'd say we registered 300 yesterday," Morgan County Board of Registrars Chairman Adonis Bailey said.

This year the county has offered an option to register online. Bailey said many people registered that route this year. Bailey said the online option has caused extra work, but their office will look at every application.

"I think they just enjoy working on the computer and they have registered several times, but they only registered once," Bailey said.

She said normally the county struggles to get registration numbers up, but this year more than 70,000 people have registered in the county. She thinks the numbers are up because it's so easy to register now, and this presidential  election is playing out different than years past.

Secretary of State John Merrill said he expected more than two million Alabamians to cast their ballots this year.
