FORT PAYNE, Ala. — Police say a person suspected of robbing South End Market crashed a car into a building early Tuesday morning and died.

The car hit a brick building on Gault Avenue in downtown Fort Payne, just beside the fire department and across from the police department.

Police say Joshua Christian Grant, 25, was pronounced dead soon after the collision.  Authorities say Grant was involved in a high speed chase with police before running off the road, hitting a light in front of the fire station, then slamming into the side of the old Quinn building.
