Woman dies of injuries from wreck on I-65 in Limestone County

TANNER, Ala. – One person died and two others were injured in a two-vehicle crash that happened Wednesday on Interstate 65 south in Limestone County.

Alabama State Troopers say Susan T. Wilson, 54, of Burns, Tennessee was hurt when the 2016 Subaru she was driving was hit by a 2013 Kia driven by Stanley Wiggins, 28, of Decatur.

Paramedics rushed Wilson to an area hospital where she later died.

Wiggins and a passenger in Wilson’s vehicle were hurt and taken to a hospital for treatment.

The wreck happened about 3:15 p.m. on Interstate 65 at the 348 mile marker, about two miles south of Athens.

State Troopers continue to investigate the incident.
