SCOTTSBORO, Ala. –  Jackson County received a grant from the state for the Goose Pond Industrial Park. Right now there are issues with the water lines in the area.  In the past, they’ve used a private system that requires many repairs.

Instead, they’ve decided to go with a public system through the Scottsboro City Water Authority.  This grant will not only provide a better water source and help with fire protection, but it will maintain and provide jobs to the city.

Also, Jackson County commission approved three additional water projects using local dollars to serve an additional 30 to 40 homes with city water.
