FLORENCE, Ala. -- With Hurricane Matthew expected to impact central Florida beginning Thursday evening, Florida Tech will be suspending operations and weekend athletic events beginning Wednesday Oct. 5, through next Tuesday, Oct. 11.

This includes the University of North Alabama vs. Florida Tech football game originally scheduled for this Saturday, Oct. 8 at 6 p.m.

Discussions between UNA and Florida Tech were not able to work out an alternate solution.  WHNT News 19 confirmed with the Gulf South Conference that the game will be cancelled, and not moved to a different playing location.

With both UNA and Florida Tech having a full slate of games scheduled for the remainder of the season, there is not an opportunity for this game to be rescheduled.
