LAUDERDALE COUNTY, Ala. -- More than two weeks have passed since anyone has seen or heard from 51-year-old Robert Shawn Childers.

Morning, noon and night, Chief Investigator Brad Bolton scans through Childers' case file.

“It is frustrating," Bolton said, "But there again we push past that and think of Mr. Childers and what could be his safety and his well-being."

092816-childers2Headed up by the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office, authorities and volunteers have searched numerous locations in hopes of finding Childers. To this point, every lead investigators have followed has led to a dead end.

“That’s the most frustrating part...nobody has seen this man since that day,” Bolton said.

That day was September 17th. His roommate reported him missing on the September 19th.

Investigator Bolton said there have been reported sightings of Childers throughout the valley. Unfortunately all of them have turned out to be false alarms.

“We’re following up all the leads,” Bolton stated. “As leads come in we vigorously go after them and try to exhaust any means we can trying to find Mr. Childers.”

Bolton just wants to make sure Childers is safe, and give some relief to the family.
