HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - New airline GLO, based out of Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport, launched its first plane out of the Huntsville International Airport.

Today, 8 passengers from New Orleans took the first plane here to Rocket City, but then the plane took another group of people from Huntsville to New Orleans.

"I will note that we were early today and I'm excited to say we have a full flight going out today," GLO CEO Trey Fayard said.

Some people wanted to be the first ones to ride on the new plane; while others like Kim Bayer come to Huntsville all the time to see family and had a trip planned.

"To not have to go to a big airport like Atlanta, and get here in a hour and 45 minutes, versus six hours is great," Bayer said.

Flights will be offered Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. They can be one-way or round trip flights.
