Kind gesture by Birmingham officers catching public’s attention

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – It was a hot weekend in Birmingham, with the high reaching 91 degrees. Some police officers with the north precincts noticed a woman cutting her grass in the “scorching hot sun,” so they decided to help her out.

The officers took over for her and cut her yard.

Erik Henderson posted some pictures to his Facebook page that are gaining a lot of traction on social media.

Our news partner, says North Precinct Officers Erik Henderson, Robert Lewis, and Ivy Nicole Jackson took turns mowing the yard. The officers say it took them about 2 hours taking turns with the push mower.

Henderson didn’t share the woman’s name, but told he estimates her to be in her 70s.
