HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Meteorologist Gabrielle Deabler recently joined WHNT News 19 as an additional member of our growing weather team.
Gabrielle spent the past year as the morning meteorologist with WWAY in Wilmington, North Carolina, and worked in Columbia, Missouri, before that. From working in the Midwest and on the East Coast she’s had the opportunity to forecast all types of weather and is eager to take on the weather challenges of the Tennessee Valley.
She’s very excited to call the Rocket City her home as the she loves all branches of physical and space sciences. She says she’s also looking forward to delving deeper into the southern life and becoming a member of the community here.
“I’ve found so many of my interests come together in Huntsville,” Gabrielle said. “It has southern charm, a fantastic scientific community, and I still can’t believe how beautiful the landscape is! I don’t think I’ll run out of places to explore any time soon!”
You can watch Gabrielle on Saturday and Sunday on WHNT News 19 This Morning starting at 6 a.m. and regularly on WHNT News 19 at Noon. She’ll also be producing weather and science-related stories for the various platforms of WHNT News 19. She’ll also enhance WHNT News 19’s severe weather coverage by tracking storms in Storm Hunter 19 and providing valuable “ground truth” – first-hand observations to help protect Tennessee Valley residents.
Gabrielle is an addition to the team, not a replacement. Meteorologist Christina Edwards will shift from weekend mornings to weeknights at 6:30 and 9:00 p.m.
