Hit-and-run accident under investigation in Decatur

DECATUR, Ala. -A 16-year-old on a bike was injured in a hit-and-run accident on Friday night.

According to our news partners at AL.com, the Decatur Police responded to a 911 call around 11:40 concerning someone on a bicycle being hit by a vehicle on 7th ave.

When police arrived at the scene they found a teen lying in the street after being struck by a vehicle.  The driver of the vehicle fled the scene before authorities arrived.

The victim was taken to Decatur Morgan Hospital for treatment for his injuries and has been released.

Police are still looking for the person responsible.
