TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (al.com) - After missing the last three practices, Kendall Sheffield's status was part of Nick Saban's opening statement after Tuesday's workout.
Saban said he was unsure of Sheffield's status at this point but was hoping to get him back on the field. The former five-star recruit has not been spotted at practice since Saturday's scrimmage in Bryant-Denny Stadium.
"We're happy to have him back," Saban said. "He's a fine young man. He's worked hard and he's made a lot of improvement here. We enjoy having him as part of the team if that's what he chooses and we will continue to work with him in a positive way."
