Police investigating wreck in Ardmore

ARDMORE, Ala. — The Ardmore Police Department has confirmed a wreck investigation is going on in Ardmore.

Chief David Whitt said it happened near the First Baptist Church on 5th St. Friday night just before 9 PM. He said 6 teenagers were traveling in a truck through the parking lot, when the driver lost control and careened into a tree. We’ve learned the accident involved students from Ardmore High School, but their identities have not been released.

Whitt said 2 patients were airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center from the scene with serious injuries. 1 of those was life-threatening, he said.

Ardmore Police and Alabama state troopers continue to investigate what happened.
