HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - "All the way up until mid-September we have appointments for kids, Kindergarten through high school, so they're going to school right now unprepared to learn," said Cassie Watson Scott, Executive Director of Christmas Charities Year Round.

That's why the agency is asking for your help.

"We are still getting calls from counselors and children who say 'hey I've got 15 kids without a backpack'," said Scott.

Scott says this is the perfect time to pick up some extra school supplies.

"Everything is on sale right now, buy some extras and bring them down here and we'll make sure they get to one of our public school kids," said Scott.

While you're at it, you can ask the store to make donations, too.

"Ask the manager what are they going to do with all these marked down prices, if no one buys them... they can donate to us and it stays in the community," said Scott.

You can drop off school supplies at Christmas Charities Year Round weekdays from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.  It's located at 2840 Jordan Ln NW, Huntsville, AL 35816. The phone number is (256) 837-2373.
