HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - A much-loved downtown event is coming to an end. The seasonal Street Food Gathering, that brings in 40 different local food trucks, is not coming back for a fourth season.

Downtown Huntsville, Inc. announced on Wednesday they are looking to bring in another event in 2017, still with food trucks, but one that will be more eclectic and fun.

Chad Emerson, CEO for Downtown Huntsville, Inc. says they decided to do something new and fresh after many other cities were hosting their own gatherings.

The final Church Street gathering will be in August and the final gathering at the Lumberyard will be in September. They say the location for October's gathering will be announced later-- it's a surprise spot!

They plan to announce more details on the new event in September- but here's what we do know: DHI says they plan to move away from Friday nights, to allow people to check out the other events and local restaurants in the area.
