Motorcyclist killed in crash on Jeff Road in Madison County identified, funeral arrangements set

MADISON COUNTY, Ala. – Alabama State Troopers said a motorcyclist was killed Tuesday in a two-vehicle crash near the intersection of Jeff Road and McKee Road in Madison County.

Trooper Curtis Summerville said Johnny Dean Hopkins, 56, of Hazel Green was killed when his 2007 Honda motorcycle hit head-on with a 2002 Ford Ranger pickup truck. Hopkins was declared dead at the scene. The driver of the truck and a passenger were transported to a hospital for treatment of injuries.

The Madison County Coroner ruled the manner of death to be accidental. State Troopers continue to investigate the crash.

Funeral arrangements have been set for Hopkins. Visitation will take place at the Hazel Green Funeral Home on Thursday, July 28 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow on Friday, July 29 at 1:00 p.m.
