Authorities identify the victim of crash on I-565

MADISON, Ala – Madison Police confirmed the driver of a vehicle that went off the road on I565 westbound is dead.┬áMadison Police said they received a call shortly after 8:30 a.m. on Sunday from a passerby.

Huntsville Police and first responders from Madison responded to the scene on I-565 westbound just before Exit 13 near the Zierdt Road Overpass.

The Madison County Coroners Office confirms that 21-year-old Breanna Lemler from Bourbon, Indiana was the victim in the crash.

Breanna Lemler was currently residing in Decatur, where she was working as an intern at a local company.

Authorities say that Lemler was travelling west when she left the road, traveled down the embankment and struck a tree.

Authorities closed both of the westbound lanes of I-565 near Shelton Rd. while clearing the scene.

I-565 has now been re-opened.
