Report: Officer shot in Ballwin, Missouri; Suspect in custody

BALLWIN, MO – Authorities are investigating a report of an officer-involved shooting Friday morning in west St. Louis County. According to our sister station KTVI, it happened shortly before 11 a.m. near the 300 block of New Ballwin Road.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch says the officer was wounded during a traffic stop. The wound was in the neck.

The officer, whose condition is unknown, was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

There are reports that the suspected shooter was apprehended after a short foot pursuit. A weapon was recovered.
