MADISON COUNTY, Ala. — Toney Fire & Rescue crews are investigating a fire that destroyed a home on Friday night. The home at 156 Church Street was vacant.

Firefighters saw flames when they got to the scene. The Toney Fire & Rescue squad said an engine company laid about 750 feet of supply line to the closest hydrant. That led to the closure of Old Railroad Bed Road for a few hours.

It took authorities a few hours to clear the scene and reopen the road.
