Crews near Wilson Dam stop runaway boat after fishermen were thrown from it

COLBERT COUNTY, Ala. – There has been a boating incident near Wilson Dam this morning. Two fishermen were thrown from their boat, which was running out of control before officials stopped it.

Other fishermen in the area were able to rescue the two who were thrown, and the boat was later towed to the port. The two men refused treatment by paramedics on scene. The incident happened around 8:15 Friday morning and officials got control of the boat less than an hour later.

Crews on the scene say the boat was circling near the dam. There were no injuries or damage to property, officials said.
