DEKALB COUNTY, Ala. - The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency ( ALEA ) Aviation Unit helped rescue two injured people at Martha's Falls Monday.

Trooper Curtis Summerville said the Fisher Rescue Squad requested their assistance with two people injured at Martha's Falls. Summerville said the helicopter used its long-line extraction capabilities to rescue the two victims.

The two were taken to the hospital, where they were treated for their injuries.

The DeKalb Rescue Service, Adamsburg Fire Dept., and Fisher Rescue Squad assisted and helped guide the rope system.

In May, a man drowned at Martha’s Falls. The sheriff said these areas require great care, as the currents can be very swift and the rocks under the water can change year to year.
