Late night storm brings down large oak tree in Five Points

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – As storms moved across the Five Points area, one lightning strike took out a large oak tree.

It happened around 11:30 Monday night at the corner of Pratt Avenue and Maysville Road.

Huntsville Police were called in to block off Maysville Road.

When the tree fell, it barely missed a home by inches.

Crews were eventually called in to remove the tree from the road.
