HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Just before 11 p.m. Tuesday, a fire broke out at the Westlake Apartments. The apartment complex is on Sparkman Drive near the intersection of Jordan Lane.

People living at the complex report someone shot a firework through the window, which started the fire.

It took firefighters about 15 minutes to get the blaze under control.

Two apartments are heavily damaged. Two adults and 7 children are currently displaced. Others in the complex are waiting to see if they can go back into their apartments.

One man was injured after he ran back into an apartment when he thought children were entrapped, but no one was inside.
