HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) - We're in the dog days of summer, but taking your dog to work too? That's right.

At Digium, it's not so unusual to have your companion in the workplace. The last Friday of every month is dedicated to "Dog Days at Digium," it just so happens this year, it falls on National Take Your Dog to Work Day.

Cora Foster is a Marketing Specialist at Digium and says not only is it a unique work day, it allows the company to bring awareness to their charity of choice. "This is something that we have started our annual charity, all the employees at Digium vote on a charity to support for the year and the charity that was nominated and chosen was the "New Leash on Life" charity and they try to find forever homes for animals in North Alabama," says Foster.

Cheri Bunn also works at Digium and says when she brings her dog, Zoe, she feels right at home. "She's got her bed in my office and she lays down at my feet while I work and people come and visit and pet her. She loves it!," says Bunn.

Digium started their Friday tradition, Dog Days at Digium, in April of this year and plan to extend it throughout the summer.
