JACKSON COUNTY, Ala. – A Jackson County man is behind bars after a six-month investigation by the narcotics units from the Jackson County and Madison County Sheriff’s Offices. Michael Shane Rorex, 45, faces multiple carges in the case.
Investigators say they stopped Rorex during a traffic stop on Highway 72 in Scottsboro. In his vehicle, they found methamphetamine, marijuana, controlled pills, a firearm and cash.
Officers then searched the man’s home in Skyline where they found approximately 8.5 ounces of methamphetamine ice and 3 ounces of Marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and several additional firearms. Investigators also seized a 2003 H2 Hummer and a 2007 Mercedes C230 along with $3,487 in cash.
Rorex was charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession of marijuana first degree, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, and certain person prohibited from possessing a firearm.
He was transported without incident to the Jackson County Jail and bond has not yet been set.
