Routine traffic stop leads to arrest

DECATUR, Ala.- 39- year- old Jason Brian Sheffield was arrested Monday afternoon during a routine traffic stop on Brookwood Dr. in Somerville.

Sheffield, a passenger in the vehicle, attempted to hide a set of digital scales and a plastic baggie containing a crystal substance believed to be Methamphetamine.

A Morgan County Drug Task Force Agent arrived on scene and did a field test of crystal substance that returned positive as Methamphetamine, weighing approximately .4 grams.
Jason Brian Sheffield was arrested and charged with the Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance- Methamphetamine.

Law enforcement later learned Jason Brian Sheffield had an outstanding Felony Arrest Warrant with Winston Co. State Probation for Shooting into an occupied Dwelling.

Sheffield’s bond is set at $2,500.00.
